Credway
Personal credit-management website to enable users to track and improve their credit score — and apply for new credit cards with confidence.
Overview
Credit scores feel opaque: three bureaus, conflicting numbers, and advice written for bankers. Credway asked for a consumer product that translates bureau data into plain language and clear next steps.
I designed the end-to-end web experience — onboarding, score tracking, improvement tips and a card marketplace — plus the marketing site that explains it all.
The challenge
Trust is everything in finance. Users share sensitive data only when every screen feels calm, precise and honest. The design had to simplify without dumbing down — no hidden fees language, no dark patterns.
On top of that, three data partners meant three report formats to unify into one score story.
Process
- 1Research
Surveyed 300+ US adults on credit anxiety; mapped the questions people actually ask before applying for a card.
- 2Information architecture
One score, three factors, one next action — a hierarchy that keeps every screen focused on progress.
- 3Visual system
A calm violet-and-white system with a signature score ring, friendly data viz and plain-language microcopy.
- 4Prototype & validation
Unmoderated tests on the card-application flow; drop-off at the identity step fell after the redesign.
From the studio
Dashboard explorations and design-system work from the Credway project.
Outcome
Every bureau factor translated into one clear sentence and one action.
A single guided path from score check to card application.
60+ components and data-viz patterns the team still ships with.
